RICHMOND - LOUISA COUNTY - The Louisa County Sheriff's Department is releasing new information in the suspicious death of a 26-year-old woman, found behind a McDonald's restaurant in Zions Crossroads (Route 250) in Louisa County, last Wednesday.
Investigators have identified the victim as Kristan Charlene Fox, a resident of Richmond who was originally from Texas.
They say Fox was taken to Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville on the night of December 30, by two men that she knew.
Hospital workers say Fox was clinically dead when she arrived and had no obvious signs of trauma. According to investigators the two men, who are both from the Charlottesville area but have not been identified, told staffers that they picked up Fox from behind the fast-food restaurant and drove her to the hospital. Fox remained on life-support until New Year's Eve night, when she was pronounced dead.
The woman's body has been sent to the medical examiner's office in Richmond and the cause of death has not been determined. Investigators are calling this death suspicious and no charges have been filed.
While the circumstances surrounding the young woman's death remain unknown, CBS 6 has learned that Fox was a survivor of domestic violence.
In 1999, Fox told police she heard her mother, 40 year-old Rhonda Borrayo and step-father 56-year-old Tony Borrayo arguing about a potential divorce in the dining room of their mobile home. Soon after Fox said she heard shots fired from her step-father's .22 caliber rifle.
According to a published report in the San Antonio Express-News, Tony Borrayo shot his wife in the back of the head and then turned the gun on himself. Both died on the scene. Fox was 16-years old at the time.
Louisa County investigators say they are still trying to find out how Fox was acquainted with the men who dropped her off at the hospital. They also say there is little "physical" evidence in this case and they will be relying heavily on eye-witness accounts from anyone who was with Kristan Fox prior to her death.

They had a 21 yr old found at a local storage unit with no signs of trauma awhile ago, she was later found to have a brain aneurysm break and she died from that, so young too a pity.
