This happened yesterday.
I was outside having a ciggy (stopped smoking in the house because of the awful smell) and I saw 6 magpies flying together. Seeing this got me thinking about the nursery rhyme and I really thought that 6 magpies was "make a wish". So I made a wish.
Last night I met up with a friend to go dancing and I explained about the 6 magpies I had seen, told her my thoughts about the "wish" and she just looked at me with amazement. I was driving at the time and I just kept looking at her briefly and looking back at the road saying "what"...."what".
She had walked her dog earlier and she also saw 6 magpies and she also thought 6 was for a wish. She had exactly the same thoughts as me. A very strange coincidence indeed.
Alas, it's not 6 for a wish, it's 6 for gold!
Here is the most commonly known rhyme
One for sorrow
Two for joy
Three for a girl
Four for a boy
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret, never to be told
Eight for a wish
Nine for a kiss

Looks like we should have seen 8 magpies.

Years ago a relative told me not to leave at that moment, but to wait 30 seconds, then go (to run an errand). As I was passing by one the intersections there was a freak accident that just happened. A semi looks like had toppled over a motorcycle as it was trying to turn on an inclined street. The ambulance was racing to take the injured cyclist to the hospital. I was coming home from work and every day i would take the same route home. One day something told me to take a detour. I tried to dismiss it but couldn't. So i said to myself what the heck i will take the scenic route. Mind you i had no fear of some impending doom if i didn't take this route.It just seemed though every time i ignored my gut feeling it would return stronger.
Now this is the crazy part. When i came back up on the main road where i originally take home, there was a huge accident. It just happened and police had not even arrived yet.
Coincidental? I like to think not!

Então, pensei: "Que diabos, vou pegar o caminho mais bonito?". Aliás, eu não tinha medo de uma desgraça iminente se não pegasse esse caminho. Mas parecia que cada vez que eu ignorava meu instinto, ele voltava mais forte.
Agora vem a parte mais louca. Quando voltei para a estrada principal, onde originalmente morava, houve um acidente enorme. Simplesmente aconteceu e a polícia nem tinha chegado ainda.
Coincidência? Gosto de pensar que não!
