A new wrinkle in the debate about gun control?
A dog shoots its owner, according to a Feb. 27 Web Pro News report. The dog's owner, Gregory Dale Lanier of Florida, was surprised that the gun was loaded. Obviously.
This is an incredibly strange story. The Florida man and his dog were driving around in his truck with a gun on the truck's seat. The dog knocked the supposedly "unloaded" gun into the floorboard. When the dog knocked the weapon onto the floor, it discharged sending a bullet into the owner's leg. That had to be quite a shock!
According to the official police report,
"His dog kicked his unloaded pistol causing it to fire and the bullet struck his leg. Lanier said he heard a 'boom,' saw smoke and felt a burning in his leg."
There is no word on if the owner and the dog were fighting before the shooting, but it seems as if this was an accidental shooting. In fact, the police decided not to charge either the dog or the owner in this strange and unusual shooting case.
At least nobody else got hurt in this instance. If the gun had shot Lanier in an different area of the body, or if it had gone through the vehicle and hit somebody else, this strange story could have had a very sad ending.

O cachorro derrubou a arma supostamente "descarregada" no assoalho.

the police decided not to charge either the dog or the owner in this strange and unusual shooting case.
LOL that line made me laugh loud, sorry, but yes on a serious note this could have been a very tragic accident if that gun landed differently that bullet might have gone somewhere other than his leg, so yes very very lucky man
but it is that line that made me laugh about they neither charged the dog or guy, i mean charging a dog, seriously

p.s thanks chilly for this story, going to bed now with a smile on my face

The dog should definitely have been given an ASBO (anti-social behaviour order).

Amazing
I guess the owner will double-check his gun when driving around from now on.

Obrigado de:
I should hope he does, Johnny. Wouldn't want to have to label the poor pooch as a repeat offender!

Unbelievable story Chilly. So strange. When I read the topic title I thought it was a joke or something. Luckily, the owner wasn't killed.
