      A quick little story....

    My local  land casino mailed out scratch tickets with a chance to win $10,000 if you scratch off 5 eagles.  You have to scratch the tickets at the players club window, in the presence of a Players Club employee.  There are also other prizes you can possibly win, and it is a really cool promotion.

Today just happens to be free money day at my land casino, so on the way out the door, I grabbed my scratch tickets I had recieved, and figured I'd have my chance at $10,000 bucks like everyone else. 

I should of knew something was not quite right when I pulled in.  The parking lot was busting at the seams with cars, trucks, and even buses.  I actually had to park in the parking garage which is something I never have to do.  Afterall, it was a Monday afternoon, and the place is usually quite peaceful with few people.

As I walked in.......There it was...........I couldn't believe my eyes........Never seen anything like it........NO, Not the $10,000 dollars, which is what you might be thinking.

It was a "LINE"  A line of people that ran the entire length of the casino down past the restaurant.  There were also people not bothering with the line, and simply camped out of the floor against the walls.  Sitting there with their legs crossed.  Even elderly people were all just waiting.  Some in wheel chairs, some with canes, and some lucky enough to find a bench or chair to sit on.

Now, what do all these people have in common you ask? What were they all waiting for?    Well, every single last one of these people , had the "scratch Cards" in their hands.
Yes, this was the line for the Players Club to scratch your tickets to try to win a grand Prize of $10,000.


I looked down at the scratch tickets in my own hands and sighed out loud.  I had a sick feeling in my stomach.  Waiting has never been my favorite thing to do.

I spoke to a Players Club associate who was directing traffic,  and she informed me that I needed to get a number. That the casino called people by groups of numbers, to the players club windows (hence the line) to scratch your tickets.

I make my way thru the crowd, to where I pick up my number. 

Just then I hear the loud speaker call the numbers "200-250, please join in line at the players Club. "    I am hopeful. Gee this line is moving pretty good I think to myself.  I wont have to wait long at all.  HA!

I finally take a look at the number in my hand...............#1791

I about fainted.  hahahahahahah.    Approximate wait time.......5 to 6 hours.


I did not wait today, and I'll have to try another day when I have more time. 

I just thought this was worth sharing.

Those people lucky enough to be at the players club window?  Well they had been waiting since around 8am this morning.

What we wont do for a chance at $10,000 bucks.  hahahaha

wow that IS a long wait.  I would have done the same as you, I am not a waiter either.  Good luck when it's your chance though!

I'd be interested to know if there was a $10,000 winning ticket or if this was just a big marketing ploy to get people into the casino. Did you hear of anyone winning anything while you were there?

People were actually holding onto their numbers with the death grip. You lose that ticket with your number on it, or if someone steals it, your out of luck, and your wait would start all over.

When I was back home in Vegas, I remember Sams Town would give away free things on certain days of the week. Whether it be a cutting board, or a set of oven mitts, the line was outrageous. I stopped going, the line just was not worth it to me.

Hey Pmm, maybe you should play that number if they have a pick 4 where you live...you never know...hmmm

Just as an update, I have not been back to the casino to scratch my cards yet.

I'll let everybody know what happens when I do go. 

Shouldnt be as bad as the first day was.  At least I am hoping.

Hi gang:
    I went last night and redeemed my scratch tickets. The line was still a long line, but NOTHING like it was that first day that I experienced.

This is what I won.  No, Not the $10000 dollars, but I won $60 in premium play to play on slots (yea) and then I won $30 toward any restaurant in the place. (I am heading to the Steak house on my Birthday) hehe

I also won 500 entries into the Mayhem Millions promotion for the Month of May.  Now that would be a sweet deal to win, but you have to be there.  I'll see what I can do about that.

Just thought I'd let everyone know how I came out.  It was alot of fun.
